Hi there

I won’t be going to the Gold Coast due to a family emergency so there won’t be a trip report.

Proper entry with my thoughts on The Amazing Race finale tommorow.

Stay safe.

Weekend Update

Quiet weekend so I’ll keep the update brief.

- No response from web host, annoying.

- Full Tilt’s random number generator saw Casino Royale and decided to turn up the bad beats. Saw some redicolous hands get up on the river when other hands were ahead.

- Didn’t plan anything out despite great plans to.

- Wii is still a ton of fun, even if I suck at boxing and tennis badly. Hopefully tomorrow some new games will be released for the virtual console.

- No Limit 2-7 Triple Draw replaces Razz as my favourite “easy” game to play. Just so much fun.

- Gold Coast is four nights away! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

- Flicked through a couple of episodes of Kenny vs Spenny last night, some funny stuff but nothing incredible. Must buy season two from Amazon after Christmas.

I think I’ll leave it there. Amazing Race and SNL (hopefully) thoughts tomorrow.

I think I have Nintendo arm

Originally I was planning on having a full write-up of getting my Nintendo Wii today. But after taking all the photos and setting it up… I couldn’t stop playing it. Once it was hooked up, it was all about the Wii. Didn’t even watch the new episodes of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares or Dom Joly’s Happy Hour. It really is just that damn good folks!

I’m hooked on Wii Sports Baseball, and Wii Sports Golf is great but really gets me excited about what Tiger Woods will be like on the system. So far, there is no Opera Web Channel, News or Weather Channels up and the Wii Store has a limited amount of games released. The nifty thing is that there is a power button on the remote, so I don’t have to wander over and turn the thing on every time I want to play or finish up.

Now your probably saying “Hey Mike”, and I’m saying “Hey whoever you are”. Then you’d say “Hey Mike, when are you going post your damn report on the system”. I’d reply “No need to be so rude fucko”. The full report/unboxing/various pictures will be up tomorrow night when I have some time to sit down and write properly. Unless I play the Wii all night, in which case you’d get nothing…

To tide you over, here is a picture of the Wii box sitting on my bed (note the cool bedspread). Interestedly enough, while I was taking the pictures my sister wandered in asking why it wasn’t set up yet. I explained that I was taking photos of it. She asked me why and I said it was for my blog, to which she ripped into me about for having a blog. Then I told her it was on MySpace. Her reaction - gold.

Full report tomorrow.

Nintendo Wii box

Throw your set in the air!

Not much to write about today, didn’t watch any TV apart from some news stuff which I don’t care for writing about. So let’s get on with the update.

- Spoke to my hosting mob today. Due to a screw up on my end, my hosting won’t be accessable until sometime next week. Disappointing, but what can I do. I’ll be e-mailing them Monday of course to ask what’s going on :) I really want to get something up and running before I go away.

- I’m going away in 8 days. I’m really pumped about it.

- Wii comes out officially in Australia in 28 minutes. Will I get mine tomorrow? Not sure! The good folks at Myer didn’t ring me despite saying they would before the release date so I’m a bit unsure of what’s going on. I read on a local forum that one Myer had ordered Wii’s for every single pre-order plus a few extra ones so that calmed me down just a little. Needless to say I’ll be on the phone tomorrow morning asking what’s going on, and if they don’t have one, looks like I’ll just be grabbing one from the JB Hi-Fi right near my work.

- Myspace blogs still suck the big one.

Let’s keep it short today and end it there. Later.

Why I rule at UFO Catchers

Finished up my Xmas shopping for my parents today and caught Borat at the pictures. Had some quality soup too.

While I was their, I noticed the UFO catcher machine at the arcade. Now, I usually kill these machines. Ages ago in my teenage years I went to play one down at the local arcade. Well, I went totally sick on it and ended up grabbing 10 or so toys from it. Ended up giving a couple to a little girl who was having trouble grabbing one herself. The next time I was back at that arcade, the stuck the prices up from 3 goes for $1 to 1 go for $1. I’d like to think it was because of me :)

Back to present time. So I noticed they had Simpsons toys in there, and me being the Simpsons and UFO Catcher freak that I am, decided to play.

The Simpsons Stach
Total spend - $10 or so. I went two from two getting Santos then Milhouse one after another. I just wanted Santos L. Halpar so I’m happy :)Got the latest Wired with Jessica Rose on the cover. Time to put together a gameplan.
