So lazy..

Heya folks (and spam bots),

So it’s been about five months or so from my last entry. It’s not like I haven’t been wanting to write but time has really gotten in the way. Here’s a bit of a summary of what has gone on since I returned:

  • I went to a bunch of gigs from Yellowcard to Tegan and Sara.
  • I played a few live poker tournaments and ran really well hot in one for a nice big stack of money..
  • I left my job of eighteen months to start a new one only this week.
  • I created a couple of fictional universes which the public will hopefully be exposed to sometime in ‘08.
  • I watched a whole lot of television and listened to a huge amount of music.

But I haven’t been writing on here! So over the next week or so I’ll be finishing up my Stateside journal and writing about what I have done in the last six months, before returning for LIST-O-MANIA ‘08 (possibly with a name change) as I look at my favourite television episodes, write about artists I discovered and maybe even fill you in on a very special project which will be coming sooner then I realised. All in all, interesting times ahead.

So with that - back to our featured presentation.

Yeah I know..

I’ve been meaning to write the rest of my Stateside trip, but I’ve just been far too busy with everything.

In the meantime, enjoy this video.

Cha-Cha-Cha-Cha-Changes!

So rather then spending time putting together badly written entries here at lamerslame.net, I spent most of the day updating the look of the site. I was a bit tired of all the links running down the right hand side, so I’ve stuck a link bar up the top of the most important stuff to draw attention to it. I’ve separated a few sections as well - the tag cloud now has it’s own individual page (and looks a bit better in the process), there is a separate page for Twitter entries (more on that a bit later), and the search bar now has it’s own section which you can open and close.

Now for the new stuff. Like the hundreds of people joining the site each day, I became a member of Twitter and will be using it for live updates once I am in the States next month. Twitter is sort of a mobile-blogging site, where the maximum you can write is 140 characters. The upside to it is that you can register your phone to the service and SMS in entries from anywhere, which are uploaded to the Twitter site (and my blog too). I won’t be sending song by song updates from Coachella with it, but it will give you all an idea of what is going on during my trip (at least until the more detailed updates come along later).

I’ve also added a calendar and weather details. The calendar shows upcoming events that I’m interested or involved with (such as the shows at the Comedy Festival that I’m attending and the Carlton fixture), as well as any entries I’ve made on the blog in the past. The weather section is pretty self-explanatory, and will change depending on the location that I’m in when I have access to a computer.

That is pretty much it on the update side of the time being. I will be tweaking a few things and may change a few things with the bars, including the ability to open and close any bar on the side if need be, but right now I’m pretty happy with it.
