A Coachella Alphabet: Kaiser Chiefs

Name: Kaiser Chiefs
Genre: Rock
Day: Sunday
Wikipedia sez: “Kaiser Chiefs are an English new wave rock band from Leeds, formed early in 1997. They were formed by school friends Nick Hodgson, Simon Rix and Nick Baines. They were later joined by Andrew White an art school graduate and Ricky Wilson, who they spotted singing with a Rolling Stones tribute band. Originally they were named Parva. After reinventing themselves as Kaiser Chiefs in 2003, the band made a strong impact on the British music scene, culminating in winning three Brit Awards for ‘Best Group’, ‘Best British Rock Act’ and ‘Best Live Act’ in 2006.”
If I had the ability to claim the Kaiser Chiefs as Australians and give up Jet to the Brits, I’d do it in an instant. Not because Jet are that shit (they really are), but because the Kaiser Chiefs are just a good, consistent rock band. I haven’t heard a rock song so catchy in the last few years that can match Everyday I Love You Less and Less, and latest single Ruby is a joy to listen to as well. The big bonus is that they have been known to bring their A game to festivals, preforming everywhere around Europe, the United States and opening for the Foo Fighters in Australia to boot. I look forward to seeing them.
