Wikipedia sez: “Amos Lee (born Ryan Massaro in 1978) is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His musical style encompasses folk, soul, and jazz. He has been on tour with musicians such as Bob Dylan, Norah Jones, Paul Simon, and Merle Haggard. Lee performs with drummer Fred Berman, bassist Jaron Olevsky, and guitarist Nate Skiles. Lee was musically influenced by Stevie Wonder, John Prine, Bill Withers, and James Taylor.”
Lee made the move from being a school teacher to full time musician, with his career taking a big move when it caught the attention of Norah Jones, who invited him to open up her shows in 2005. So what’s so good about Amos, if anything? I wouldn’t call his music jazz by any means, he reminds me a little bit of Jack Johnson, but as a more talented musician. Lee is also a decent songwriter and his sound seems perfect to set to montages on something like Scrubs but as for seeing him at a festival.. I’m not so sure. His crowd seem to really get behind him tho, which is a plus.
Likelyhood of seeing: If the planets align, yes. Otherwise pass.
