Couple of non-TV related things first. How about that cricket game eh? England sure do suck. Two more days til the Wii. What I’m even more excited about is someone managed to get the Wiimote working with their PC. Get the Wiimote, hook it up to the PC, then play poker one handed while riding my exercise bike. Very cool.
Most importantly, I’ll be moving this blog over to my own personal site which I’ll announce in a few days. Myspace blogs seem to be an afterthought so I figured I’d put something together that’s half decent. Everything is paid for and once it’s set up, I’ll make an announcement on my main page with the link.
Ok on with the TV stuff. If you don’t want to be spoiled for The Amazing Race and Saturday Night Live, leave now.

The Amazing Race - Dude, I’m Such a Hot Giant Chick Right Now! - Four teams left, one team is going home for sure tonight, and I really don’t care which team it is. The Amazing Race has been pretty average casting wise this season and we are left with four average teams. First we got the ex-crackhead best friends who met in detox. My personal pick to win the whole thing, but they are pretty dull guys compared to some of the fun teams that we have seen in the past. Next we have the young couple that they keep wanting to think is in trouble. Problem for the editor is, they just quietly go about the race. But they seem to have no desire to win what-so-ever. Then we have Team Blondage, the pagent girls. They realise that they are in a competition and are willing to be bitchy to win. Unfortunately after the last episode, they really gotta finish first or they will be kissing their asses goodbye, no matter where they finish. Finally, we have the single mom best friends who like to yell at each other. In any other season they would of been eliminated by episode three, but read what I said about the bad casting. Horrible team who seems to stay in by luck and luck only.
Crackheads finished the last leg in first, so they get to leave first. First roadblock is a eating challenge - prepare and eat camel meat. I’m getting a bit tired of eating challenges, personally I think one a season is enough but they seem to be leaning on them a fair bit. The single moms fight about the roadblock. Getting tired of them. As what has happened for the last few seasons on the race, all four teams catch up to each other and get the same flight to Barcelona. After that, it was detour time. In a challenge that involved looking through tomatoes for a clue while fighting off those throwing fruit at them, we saw our young couples first fight in public. Twelve episodes it took to get to this stage but it was not to be, the couple found the clue, finished the leg in first place and made up (probably). The crackheads actually played the race smart, knowing that Team Blondage would have to run first by at least 30 minutes to stay in the race first, as long as they did the same task and were less then 30 minutes behind, elimination was guaranteed. Somehow, both the Crackheads and the Single Moms managed to get ahead of Blondage despite starting the task after them. Blondage finished in last place and says bye bye birdy. Three teams left, finale part one airs next week and I honestly couldn’t care less - which is something I don’t usually feel about TAR. Thumbs in the middle.
Saturday Night Live - Matthew Fox/Tenacious D - Six sketches. Yes, six freakin’ sketches plus the world’s longest weekend update. As is becoming the norm, the show started with a George W. press conference which instantly means fast forward. Monologue with the Kramer gags were pretty amusing. Don’t care for Amy doing Nancy Grace, as it’s just Crossfire/O’Reilly Factor with a worse impression. Deep House Dish.. meh. The Lost elevator sketch was amusing. Weekend Update is a skip for me. Crazy Mountain Man/Kiss Me was fairly amusing but Matthew Fox isn’t the best person for a sketch like this. History Student was okay for Will Forte acting like a crazy man but I didn’t laugh once. Didn’t care for the History Channel sketch. Tenacious D were good but have been better on the show in the past (plus they weren’t in a single sketch!). Thumbs down.
